Brief Script Writing Research

When the time of writing my script came around, there were still some areas (to script writing) that I was unsure about. This page will show some of the research carried out during the time of writing my script.

Script Cover Page

As I began the task of writing my script, I knew there should be a cover or title page for the script, but I didn't actually know what this page required. This wasn't really a problem that stopped me from doing my work, but I still felt that it would be best for me to have it as correct as possible, just to show that what I've written is the script to the game.

Because of this, I decided to carry out some quick research online, to try and allow my script to be as accurate (in format) as possible.

"All title pages should include following, centered on the page:

  • the title (in uppercase)

  • written by

  • the writer’s name(s)

  • based on (if any)

The date goes in the lower right-hand corner." (Screenwriting.io, 2019)

An example that's shown on the website is shown below.

From the example and the information shown on the website, I was able to have a better idea of what the cover/title page of a script should look like.

"For a spec script, the title page should include contact info for the writer or her representation on the left margin opposite the date. (Name and email address is sufficient.)" (Screenwriting.io, 2019)

This was something that I didn't add for my own script, although I feel as though it would be a good idea to add this to my own cover page.
