1. What areas of the discipline do I want to take a closer look at?
The areas of marketing that appeal to me (currently) are advertisement in forms such as trailers and posters, so these will most likely be the areas I look into more, to see how different media products make use of them, and then compare the effectiveness if possible.

What skills and techniques do I want to learn / improve?
I would need / want to improve my skills on Photoshop and illustrator to be able to produce posters of my own. Additionally, I could also try a learn how to edit to create variations of trailers (this could be for a movie / game using cut footage). 

What could I create that would enable me to improve in these areas?
As mentioned above I could try to create my own posters for existing products (movie / game poster), or even creating a trailer for an existing media product.
